Lynx: late to the game

People still seem to be a little shocked by nasty Lynx deodorant adverts ironically promising lots of sex of you spray their foul potion over your spotty adolescent crevices.

Corporations aren't new at this - have a look at this Swinging Sixties Old Spice ad:

Hey! What's so bad about Lynx?

If you don't know, then you're doomed to bachelordom forever.

Quite right, Vole. But then again Lynx is in every damn supermarket and half empty, half robbed shop in the Dark Place. I yearn for some Brut.

Have you seen the 'new' Old Spice commercials? Very funny (or unsettling in that advertising has appropriated deconstruction to sell us stuff...)

All those Old Spice ads are making my head spin. Much like Ewar's Lynx.

Ewar: Lynx is wrong because it's the smell of Telford: artificial and unpleasant.

I've just realised that my first comment here - Don't worry. I'm a doctor - was supposed to go under the next blog entry, which was about chat-up lines. I suppose it's too late to move it now. But just think how funny it would have been if I had put it there. Under the right blog post. Instead of here. Where it is now.

I was very confused by that.
