Alan Moore Knows The Score

Alan Moore, author of V for Vendetta, Watchmen and a host of other works of subcultural genius, loves libraries. Perhaps the Tories hate them because subversives like Moore know how important they are. As does Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers.

Bless him. I'm sure he's god you know. Check the historical representations. He's a dead ringer. The accent's a bit off mind.

That's one hell of a beard. I don't think I've seen a beard that impressive since Cheryl Cole.

Boom. And indeed Tish.
Moore's an occult/subculture genius. Beards are compulsory. Look up the Beard Liberation Front, as led by all-round wit, subversive and letter-writer Keith Flett.

I'm finding it hard to reconcile all this current commentary on the social import of libraries with the fact that, last Saturday, I had an elastic band fight with a co-worker.

My taxes paid for those elastic bands. Good. I hope you won.

Can't believe you didn't list The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Lost Girls among his magna opera. Promethea I'll let you away with - it's a bit more dense and difficult than, say, LEG, but brilliant nonetheless...

Nerd Alert: We have a signed Alan Moore poem, lettered by Todd Klein, hanging in our hall at home. It has pride of place next to the cuckoo clock.

And Swamp Thing… What a great thing to have in your house.

I'm still in two minds about Lost Girls. I have Promethea but haven't got round to it yet.
