Must. Keep. Marking.

I'm marking re-sit essays and to be honest, I'm totally despairing. You'd think that, having failed once, you'd make sure at least that full sentences featured in the second attempt, or that you wouldn't cut and paste the entire piece of work from a website. Wouldn't you? God knows, I don't expect perfection, but some people have managed to hand in pieces which are worse than the first attempt.

It's easy:
1. Read some books. Preferably including the book the essay is about.
2. Write some sentences. Add punctuation, paragraphing, prepositions, capital letters etc.
3. Try to spell the names of characters (such as Othello) properly.
4. Arrange your paragraphs so that a line of argument emerges.

Bingo. All we want is evidence you've read the texts and thought about them.
