I've achieved a lot today: I now know everything about Polish migrants' attitudes (thanks to reading a very enlightening PhD thesis) and I've been to a seminar on how to get publishing which has cheered me up.
Now I'm off to see Chris Addison's stand-up act - organised by my friend and colleague Debbie - an event which had completely slipped my mind.
Toodle-pip!

This may sound extremely dumb (my apologies), however there is one thing I don´t understand: if you are interested in the opinions of Polish people in UK, why don´t you go ask them straight, get the information first hand? I´m sure there must be some Polish people in your courses (I know at least one) and surely they wouldn´t bite your head off.
If that's the Debbie I think it is, I can only presume she patronised you to death last night, as she does with all of her students.
Anonymous - If it is the Debbie I think it is, then you are somewhat misguided to say the least! She co-led a module I took last year and was one of the most compassionate and engaging lecturers I have encountered...speaking of morphology, add the bound morpheme of 'un' to 'pleasant' and apply it to your comment(if that isn't too challenging for you).
@Winter - Plashing Vole knows a lot about Polish people, we are his faithful students! Although I'm sure it's good to do some proper research as well.
Are you into Jazz? There is a must see Jazz festival next week in Birmingham. http://www.harmonicfestival.co.uk/ One of the best moments to listen to some good jazz in west midlands..
Ta ta
Winter: I'm proofreading a PhD thesis on Polish migrants to help the author - and the thesis is primary research based on interviews with Polish migrants.

@ PR hero - Seriously? I didn´t know Vole is a spiritual leader besides his other amazing talents - wow! Is shaving heads and mumbling mantras involved? I need to get my chakras checked anyway... so spill the details please, I feel I need to join in!XD
