Well, that's one question answered…

The question was, do my students come to class because they're thirsting for learning, or because they need to pass modules?

I had a class scheduled for today even though the assignment is due in, so they couldn't have used anything discussed in the session. We were going to look at some of R. S. Thomas's wonderful, complex poems.

Attendance: a big fat round 0.

You would like me as a student then. I nearly always come to class prepared and have something to say. Sometimes, I say something other students don't like and they join in. But, I have to add, some profs prefer robo-students that just regurgitate what they've been told.

I'd have loved to have you in my classes. Some of my sessions have been really good this year, because I chose books people would hate - that got them talking. But really substantial literary discussions in class are few and far between.
