Enfiladed by the stupid and illiterate

I'm a grammar and spelling spod, despite the occasional typo on my Powerpoint slides. I'm also a hardline atheist materialist - Alabama's worst nightmare basically. So I'm founding a set on Flickr devoted to Stupidity of the literary and cultural sorts. Please send your examples in and I'll feature them (credited) on Plashing Vole and commend them to posterity on the Flickr site.

Some examples (click on them for larger images):

The 'angel therapy' place is, unhappily, mere yards from my new home, though pleasingly close to the porn bookshop. The latter offends me, but not nearly as much as the idea that some people are a) dumb enough b) desperate enough or c) rich enough to splatter some charlatan with £45.00 per hour ($80) to discuss their cherub-related communications difficulties. By comparison: a temporary lecturer earns £36 per hour and the UK minimum wage is £5.72 per hour.

The spelling one is from the Krispy Kreme (don't get me started) franchise in Selfridge's, one of the poshest shops in Britain. Disgraceful.

£45 is such a comedy price. It is a ridiculously cheap sum for proving the existence of angels, and thus God putting into question science and the philosophies stemming from the Renaissance, and gaining direct access to an ambassador of heaven and/or it is a hilariously expensive price for a bullshitting cold-reader to mug you.

However, the person who sells these lies is no more or less stupid than an oncogene. They are simply a stumbling block in the path of human evolution.

And that porn shop didn't offend you enough to stop you spending your money in there did it? (I hasten to add that the Vole did NOT buy pornography - he bought a book about the Spanish Civil War instead.) I waited outside. The shop smelled of damp lonely men and the man behind the counter was quite clearly a sadistic recidivist who may or may not have graduated from the sexual torturing of cats and dogs.

I endorse every word of Cynical's comments.
