At The Hegemon, there are various loopholes which allow very poor students to get as far as a 2.1 degree - even with a D-grade dissertation. Once they've graduated, nobody will know.
No longer, if we all adopt the HEAR academic record as well as/instead of the traditional 1st/2.1/2.2/3rd classification. I'm all for it, though I do have a little twinge of nostalgia for the current system. We'll get a detailed transcript of how good people are at the varied tasks and skills required for successful completion of a degree.
