The kids are still alright

A few more pictures. Click for bigger ones. The full set is over here.

In case you're wondering why there are kit differences, there are three disciplines: epee, foil and sabre. Epee doesn't need the metal jackets wired into the electronics because a point can be scored anywhere on you, and you can both score at the same time. The metal jacket without sleeves is for foil - hits are with the point, only on the metal, and if you hit simultaneously, the referee has to work out who had priority. Sabre's the same, but you hit with the edge rather than the point, and the arms and head are part of the target.

Point awarded!

Not sure where the lad on the left is aiming

Leah King. She's very good (as are all the others)

Every fight ends with a handshake; not sure how sincere they all are!

The athletes are currently marauding around the campus blowing vuvuzelas, quite impressively. I'm on-call all night, which isn't so impressive, considering we've got to get the fencers up, fed and on the bus to the venue by 6.45 tomorrow morning.
