Top of the Popes

It's the Vole's birthday in July: my dear sister, mindful of my devout Catholicism (ahem), asks whether I'd like to choose from this catalogue. Most of these would earn you a shallow grave in most parts of Northern Ireland (pronounced locally as Norn Iron), but this one would get you there much quicker, particularly in Celtic colours.

Been reading your very funny blog for about a week now but couldn't come up with something witty to say.

Happy Birthday!

That's witty enough for this blog I reckon. I don't think it's his birthday yet but I saw him recently and he does look about a year older.

Thank you, Some Chilean Woman - your blog's fascinating. It's my birthday halfway through July. No Catholic shirts required.

You're welcome and thanks again!
Happy Birthday in advance is what I meant, I'm proactive like that.

I was thinking the Celtic thing would be okay though, I'm a very flexible Chilean.

Oh yes, your husband's a Scot: Celtic or Rangers?

Celtic. Did I choose the right kind of Scot? ha ha.

Definitely the right side of the sectarian/political divide!

so how did I choose?!

Callaghan = Irish/Catholic = Celtic. Unless you feel that it's time to move on from these embarrassing twentieth-century divisions. Which would be admirable but wouldn't protect you from the mobs, such as the one that killed a man in Northern Ireland a few weeks ago: a bunch of UDA Rangers fans poured into a nationalist area to 'celebrate' a Rangers victory by beating up some 'Taigs'. They managed to kill a cross-community worker married to a Protestant (whom they also beat up, despite her pregnancy).

Thanks for the "plug".

The vast majority of our t-shirts come in different colours, so, for the benefit of Rangers / Chelsea / Morton / Kilmarnock loving Catholics, you can click on the tops with the white artwork and then choose blue.

We aim to please!

:)
