Another book in the post today: Fiona MacCarthy's biography of Eric Gill, painter, sculptor, typographer and child abuser. Should we take down art (especially the religious art) of known paedophiles? Or does art transcend the weaknesses of its composer? I'm quite a fan of Gill Sans and its close relative, Edward Johnston's Johnston Underground (designed for the London Underground).

I would have said it was their best result since 1950, when they defeated the mighty England 1-0.
When word got back to England about it, no-one believed it, and assumed they meant England 10-0 USA.
I wasn't very clear: it's the furthest they've got in a serious competition since 1916. You're right though, it's the most surprising one since that England match. I didn't know the story - is there anything you don't know about sport, Ewarwoowar?
I don't know how Stoke City are a Premier League team, tbf.
Zing!
Now that's top quality zing!
