Sheffield Snaps

I took a few photographs of the competition on the first day, once my refereeing had finished. They're really not very good at all. Flash is banned in the hall (rightfully), and the finals hall consisted of dark blue floor, dark blue and grey walls with blue curtains, and a blue ceiling, light by pools of fluorescent light.

My skills, and my camera, were basically defeated by this - it's really hard to get sharp images of fast-moving people in very low light. If you have any advice, let me know. I was shooting at 1600ISO with an aperture ranging from 25-125, F5.6 (I think - it seems so long ago).

Here are a few of the slightly better ones (click on them to enlarge): the rest are here.
