Horsing about

Today's the Horse Fair at Puck Fair - hordes of donkeys and horses from racing steeds to tiny bog ponies brought down from the country by old men in their best suits and their manly bochtáins - proud young fellows identifiable by the sticks, stomachs and bottoms stuck out. Sales are conducted in mutters of disbelief, shaken heads and imperceptible nods - cash only. Lads and lasses take a canter around the ground to show off their wares, usually while talking on their mobile phones.

I took a lot of pictures - horses, donkeys and real characters. They're all here. Click on these samples for full-screen versions.

Beautiful photos! I love that you captured so many people's faces, I love people watching, I really do.

Lucky you for living in such a wonderfully rugged place.

I wish… just visiting. I invested in a long lens so I could capture character without interrupting (or being caught!).
