Poor Manchester City

Reduced to 11 international players worth only hundreds of millions of pounds, they were sent out defenceless against a Stoke team of journeymen - and lost 3-1.

OK, they had a harsh sending off, but they still should have dispatched us quickly: instead, we scored first (82nd minute), they immediately equalised (I knew that would happen), then Adebayor was defenestrated and we scored two in extra time to get through to the quarter-finals for the first time since 1972. They even fell for Rory Delap's long throw - the only tactic we've employed in the last two years!

Now we'll get hammered by Chelsea…

Still, bragging rights over Neil will be exercised to the full.

Just been watching the highlights online from all last night's games. I couldn't watch the Villa match as i went to see Richard Herring (excellent). I thought goals 1 and 3 were really good. Stoke are playing some descent stuff this year, a bit of quality up front helps. I put Etherington back in my Fantasy team as he was rumoured to be back last night but i take it he wasn't. Stoke Villa final? sounds good to me.

Herring is a genius.
We are playing very well - plenty of goals, not all from long throws, and unbeaten this decade. Would be great to meet and beat you at Wembley, but Chelsea away are pretty tough.

No Etherington last night, or Beattie.

Yes, the glee club was packed which I was pleased about. It's a shame he gets overshadowed by Lee (who is obviously also brilliant)and it's interesting how they have both had to adopt some characteristics of the other to make their comedy work on their own.

Tuncay looked good again from the short highlights. Seems to be finding his feet now. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see them beat Chelsea. The 'big four' are not all that they were this season.

p.s Stoke are playing some decent stuff, not descent (maybe next year)

I'm embarrassed to lose to a team of overly physical long ball merchants. Fooled by a Delap throw in again! Why can't our £80m defence do the job for which they're paid? I blame Terry for nobbling Bridge (by nobbling his ex.) And Mancini's negativity - bring back Hughes, all is forgiven!
Oh, what the hell, you were the better team, Pulis' tactics were spot on again. Now do the decent thing and take out Chelsea!

No such thing as 'overly physical'. Everything else you say is true.

It'll take a real surprise to beat Chelsea. They won't fall for the Delap Special.

Apologies - how about 'dirty' then?

Sure you can beat Chelsea - John (scumbag) Terry's lost it (did you see the Everton game a couple of weeks ago, Inter on Wednesday?) A Delap special might send him over the edge!

In Tuncay and Etherington, you finally have some quality too (maybe we'll buy them in the summer.)

That defence at City is bad, but imagine if you had kept Dunne instead of spending 20 odd million pounds on Lescott.

Oh, I amuse my self sometimes...

(ps I support Walsall who are eternally woeful so please feel free to retaliate in kind. To save you a google search, I recommend use of the words 'Southampton' 'scored' and 'repeatedly')
