The natives are restless…

Someone has taken a satirical approach to The Hegemon (click on the photo for a larger one):

Very amusing Vole, and all very accurate I'm sure, but be careful, the Hegemon may be watching you!

It wasn't me. Though I heartily endorse the sentiments expressed.

It may not have been you who created the poster, but it is you, a paid employee of the University, who is advertising it on your blog.

I am just concerned in the context of what Benjamin said yesterday - he has already been threatened with legal action for speaking out. I had no idea things had gotten quite that bad, but I would have thought that as a student there is limited action management could take against him, for you however it is an entirely different matter.

I am just playing devils advocate here, and would by no means wish to challenge your right to free speech. I have a lot of personal experience of office politics and have found out about the consequences of speaking out the hard way, which means I am now more circumspect when it comes to such things. Maybe I am being overly cautious, that is for you to decide, I just don't want you to find out about such things the hard way, that's all!

Subversive and satirical - both attributes of a free-thinking democracy, and guess what? That's how dictatorships are challenged and that's how creative ideas emerge. So why is there no sign of these posters around the university?

Pulled down - before I got a chance to take one for the archive.
