Temporarily disguised as not a pumpkin

As I briefly mentioned yesterday, I am going to a charity ball, because that's the kind of upstanding pillar of the community I am. Ahem.

The charity in question is the North Staffordshire Special Adventure Playground, a magnificent organisation dedicated to providing excitement, adventure and really wild things for children and young adults with disabilities. And to providing some peace, quiet and solidarity for their parents.

My connection with the place is a brief period volunteering there before I became the embittered and lazy reader you see before you, and a long friendship with its key staff member, The Well of Lost Blogs.

If you live in sunny Stoke-on-Trent, give them your time. If you don't, give them your money. Or give it to me, and I'll pass most of it on. Consider the donation a payment in gratitude for not living in Stoke-on-Trent.

Why Stoke should be razed to the ground (part 43)

This is disgusting. At least, I think it is.

As I departed Stoke-on-Trent yesterday, I passed a family outing. Standing next to his mother was a boy of about 14.

On his t-shirt was the revolting legend 'I eat pussy like a fat man eats cake', adorned with a picture of a slice of cake.

This led me to ponder the parental choices made. Is this somehow OK now? Am I really deeply conservative and the world has moved on? How is this possibly acceptable as children's clothing?

I'm guessing that a fat man eats cake with little care for enjoyment or other people's pleasure, so in fact the slogan's quite threatening. It links consensual activity with selfish consumption, and uses a particularly revolting term to boot.

Worse than that, it was clearly untrue. This boy was large. Very large. It should have read 'I eat cake like an sex-addict eats pussy'.

Nobody in Norway wore slogan t-shirts.
