Mooring in the Marina

Wow - what a stimulating afternoon in the company of Marina.



No, not that Marina. Marina Warner, who talked about the Thousand and One Nights, talismen, charms, djinns, commerce, finance and banking in a fascinating, freewheeling examination of irrationality and communities of faith (not the same as religion, I hasten to add).

More tomorrow on the link between the sale of indulgences and credit default swaps - I've had too many tortillas and glasses of white wine (in plastic glasses, in case the assembled academics might kick off).
