From the vaults

We're on to British Sea Power in my odyssey through the hard drive. They're an odd band: kind of steam-punk nostalgics - as the name suggests - with an interest in birdwatching and pipe-smoking. They're also a thrilling rock band, as this deranged but catchy number from their debut The Decline of British Sea Power suggests.

I've lost track of them a little. I couldn't quite get to grips with their second album, Do You Like Rock Music?, and there's a new one out which I haven't yet heard. I like eccentric bands though, and this lot certainly do things their own way.
