That's the motto of The Dark Place. Sometimes it's true. This song is 'Stuck', by Ned's Atomic Dustbin. It was composed in this very university. This is what the band has to say about it:

Top pop song written at [Hegemon] Polytechnic, who found us a room near the squash courts to make a noise in for a while. Apparently it's about Mat being an 'I know it smells like champagne but I'm sure someone's pissed in my glass' kind of guy.
