Musical interlude

Things what I 'ave been listening to today.

Camera Obscura: 'Dory Previn' (songwriter, poet, married to André Previn). Sweet, soporific lo-fi. I'd love to see CO live.



Johann Ludwig Bach (overlooked cousin of JS - all the Bachs were musicians), Trauermusik. It's not on the web (I have reached the limits of the internet!) so here's a taste of something else by him:



And Pavement's lovely Trigger Cut - not as spiky as their earlier stuff, though the lyrics remain unhinged… All together now:

They've reformed and are curating ATP next year - very tempted to go again. Even if they're not great, I think they'll pick great bands. Hopefully it won't be quite so Americentric this time either…

Pavement may be getting back together! Good for a much-missed band or a retrograde step for a bunch of blokes who ended their time together very miserably indeed?

Thursday's Friday Conundrum

I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow, and so rather depressingly missing Cruel Brother Featuring The Deer Friend, but I urge you to attend. I don't know if I'll be online tomorrow or over the weekend as the posh hotel charges extra for wi-fi, the skinflints.

So Friday's Conundrum will have to go up early.

What words would you take back, and what words should you have said? What have you said/written/hinted to someone that you regret? What have you failed to say to someone that may have changed your life, their lives, or simply been the right thing to come out with? Feel free to post anonymously! I'll think about mine for a little longer, as I've only just come up with this one.
