Error 403 - Forbidden

Anyone else ever had this, or know and explanation? I've had a horrible, sweaty hour trying to work out why access to my own blog was forbidden - Google claimed it was because I was running spyware or had a virus. Not bloody likely - I use a Mac.

And to add to the misery, my hard drive's playing up which is horrifying: all my music is on it, with the exception of what's on vinyl. I hate computers.

Anyway, I'm back again as inexplicably as I was excluded. Not sure why I'm so relieved, it's not as if I have that many readers, so it must be the opportunity to type what I think that I've become attached to. Weird.

I completely understand. I am going crazy without the internet at home.

Merciless Public sent me a text asking if my internet was going a bit mad, as his was.

Mine was in full working order. So, I win.

SCW - we miss you, really.
Ewar - I think there must be some wider problem. Everything's very slow today too.

My blog went down along with mostly other every site I use apart from last.fm so I spied on some people on there. Then when the horrible, sweaty hour went by I sent Ewar the text in a mild panic. So glad it's back. Sorry to hear about your hard drive.

And I'll do what I always do when I have a PC related problem, I'll ask Matt when he gets in from work! Re the music - can't you back it up on memory sticks? You should do, I assume macs have USB ports.

All working again. Yes, Macs have several USB ports and no, a memory stick won't do it as I have 11,752 tracks, taking up 88Gb, or 66 days worth of music!

Have a good weekend with Emma.

I couldn't get on twitter. I realise that under normal circumstances this would not matter but I had just recieved an e-mail telling me I was now being followed by SwingersUK! I really needed to block those weirdos at the nearest possible opportunity.

As you know Vole, I got 500 gigs in a spiffy little drive for £79. I backed up my laptop drive in case disaster struck while I was away for 3 days. Hackers have done over twitter and facebook today according to the BBC website.

Yep, external hard drives are the way forward. Splash out a little more for one with Firewire (depending on which Mac you have) and just set Time Machine to back up your stuff. It's worth it just for the peace of mind!

It's an error thrown by an access restriction. Perhaps a firewall?

Or perhaps the University has deemed you site to be subversive and restricted access to it, or perhaps the some government has ;-)
