Poor Emma

That petulant idiot savant Ronaldo has gone to Real Madrid for £80m. Meanwhile, my eyes are on Ireland v. New Zealand this afternoon. It should be good. New Zealand play great strategic cricket (Vettori's my favourite bowler) but they may not be cut out for the agricultural style demanded by Twenty20.

Live coverage here.

Vettori is also one of my favourites, only because I admire sportspeople who wear glasses on the field of combat.

So that's Vettori and Dennis Taylor then.

I'm not actually that upset. He's a selfish player who never deserved the no 7. Think of all the pressure penalties he's missed. It's not like Giggs is retiring.
Think of what Ferg can buy with that money.

That's the same reason I like Vettori, even though I don't need glasses.

Emma - totally right about Ronaldo. Nobody will miss him.

Totally wrong about Ronaldo, as I will probably blog later.

If only Giggs would retire.

Totally wrong about Ronaldo. United will miss him badly 118 goals in 286 matches. He is all but irreplacable.

I look forward to your blog Ewarwoowar. I have already added my worthless opinion to the blogosphere.

Oh yeah, and Edgar Davids. Spec-tacular.

Emma: I hope you are right but I fear with Essien back next season Chelsea might have a very good year indeed. Hiddink has laid the groundwork for a massacre. Especially with Ronaldo, Alonso, Mascherano and Tevez all seemingly on the way out of United and Liverpool. As I say though, I hope you are right.

To you all, when Beckham everyone thought it would be end for Man U. when Cantona retired the same. Man U was not built on one player. I will miss his skill but not his attitude. Who knows they are so many waiting in the wings for their chance to shine?

Cantona left in 97. Winners next season Arsenal. Beckham left in 2003. Winners next season Arsenal. Winners the following season Chelsea. Winners the following season Chelsea. Of course United will bounce back. Just maybe not next year.
